Elderly Adult Survivors of Family ViolenceImplications for Clinical PracticeBenjamin Rose Institute This article examines the effects of family violence on elderly adult survivors, the vast majority of whom are women. Two timeframes are considered: violence experienced early in life and elder abuse. A review of the literature on these and related topics reveals a conceptual framework for explaining the effects. Implications for practice are discussed along with case studies to illustrate key constructs.
